Dual Blackfin® DSPs — Faster & Farther
Two Blackfin® Digital Signal Processors working in tandem deliver even faster processing speeds and greater detection range than the single-DSP R4W. The R8W processes front and rear signals simultaneously without compromise.
Directional Threat Arrows
The OLED display shows directional arrows indicating whether radar is detected from the front or rear — giving you precise situational awareness so you can respond intelligently, not just react to an alert.
Built-in Wi-Fi — OTA Updates
The R8W connects to your home Wi-Fi to automatically update firmware and the red-light and speed camera database over the air — no cables, no computer required. Always current, always accurate.
GPS with Auto Mute Memory
Built-in GPS remembers false alert locations along your routes and mutes them automatically. The R8W gets smarter and quieter the more you drive — up to 2,000 mute memory and user marks stored.
Red Light & Speed Camera Alerts
A preloaded database of red light and speed cameras gives you advance warning before you reach enforcement zones. Free updates via Wi-Fi keep the database current automatically.
Advanced K/Ka Band Filtering
The R8W uses the same best-in-class K/Ka band filtering as the R4W — dramatically reducing false alerts from modern blind-spot monitoring and collision-avoidance systems found on nearly every new vehicle.
Bluetooth & R/TACH™ App
Connect via Bluetooth to the R/TACH app on iOS or Android to customize settings, view camera locations on a map, manage updates, and review alert history — all from your smartphone.
Laser Transponder Compatible
